The USITT Chesapeake Section is celebrating the reopening of live entertainment by hosting a Expo at West Chester University on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
This Expo is open to all and will be held from 9a-5p at the MainStage theater located at 700 South High Street, West Chester, PA 19382.
This event will feature workshops for lighting, scenery, costuming and others and will be attended by select industry companies. This is a great opportunity for the for beginning and the professional entertainment technologist to network and learn.
Members are invited to join Bill Sapsis for an intimate 90 minute online learning session. Event will take place on July 21st, 2020 at 10am.
Bill Sapsis announces a new training program that is social distancing compliant. There’s much more information available on the internet now that most of us are in quarantine.
These webinars are great but the information they provide tends to be general in nature and doesn’t always meet the specific needs of an organization or company. This is where Bill Sapsis can help.
Bill will bring his 45+ years of experience to your video screen for live discussions with you and your staff and crew on issues that address your specific concerns and the needs of your operation. Unlike a traditional webinar where you are lost in a sea of faces on a screen, this event will be limited to 20 participants and the content will be based on questions submitted beforehand from those registered.

Please RSVP to Tom Haughey firstname.lastname@example.org by July 17th with your registration request and questions for Bill Sapsis.
CM motor school update. We now have dates, July 23-24 it’s 2 full days. Location, number of slots and specific content still TBD. Once this is finalized an email will be sent to active Chesapeake members. If you want a slot, please join the section.
Radford University is hosting this year’s annual Virginia Thespian Conference January 29th and 30th, 2016 and we’re looking for a couple of folks to be the face of USITT in the region. If you’re interested, email Jeremiah at email@example.com and I’ll get you some details.
Applications for the next funding cycle are due November 15, 2015. Previous applications not yet funded will be retained & automatically considered in the next cycle.
The RSI is open to all secondary schools (middle schools and high schools) nationwide. Once a school’s application is approved, they choose from a list of participating ETCP certified rigging inspectors in their area. USITT pays the inspector directly for the inspection and four to six hours of safety training for faculty and student stage crew. The only cost to schools may be the inspector’s travel and housing — if necessary — and any special equipment such as a lift to access the system.
On Friday December 11 2015 The Chesapeake section of USITT will sponsor a tour of Tait Towers in Lititz PA. The tour will consist of ½ the day of touring the facility and ½ day of an automation workshop. The event will begin at 9 am and end at 4 pm.
This event is free to all active members of the Chesapeake section. Attendance is limited to 30 participants.
