Covid-19 and Resources: Help is Available

Essentially our entire way of life is changing before our very eyes. No joke.

Most people are understandably concerned about how they’re going to pay rent and buy groceries. If you’ve been out of the news lately, there is talk about the FEDS dropping off $1200 checks but at this point, it’s just talk and there doesn’t seem to be a clear consensus as to what form that money is going to take – check, tax rebate, blah blah blah.

The silver lining in here is that there are an increasing amount of people pulling together and creating emergency funds specifically for the arts. Here’s a list of resources compiled online that’s pretty extensive.

Speaking from the forefront of one of these fundraising efforts, I would urge anyone and everyone to donate where they can. If you’re making money still and you can give, please do. If you’re not working, then contact some of these organizations and see if you can donate your time. Even though we’re distancing ourselves physically, it’s not the time to distance ourselves from each other as a community.
