Volunteer at USITT Conference22 Baltimore

MARCH 2 – 5, 2022 || USITT 2022 BALTIMORE

March 2022 is quickly approaching for this year’s in-person USITT Conference in Baltimore. With this occurring in our region, the national office is leaning on our section to provide volunteers to assist in various ways at the conference workshops.

This is a perfect opportunity for students of any age to gain resume credentials and to network with peers from other schools and industry professionals.

As a thank you for your time and labor, you will be awarded a FREE EXPO FLOOR PASS.

Please contact our section President Bill Price at wap@akt3.com to inquire about available volunteer positions. Please reach out as soon as possible as spots are limited.

USITT Conference22 – Baltimore

The time has come for us to once again gather in-person for the annual USITT Conference.

March 2 – 5, 2022 at the Baltimore Convention Center

We are back in-person! We are excited to be together for our 62nd Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Baltimore, March 2-5, 2022 — the most anticipated gathering of the entertainment design and technology industry each year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 event will be the first in-person occurrence since 2019.

Things may look a bit different at USITT22 compared to years past, but there will be no shortage of education, hands-on activities, skill-building, and connection.

You will be able to engage in applied educational activities, sessions, panels, and more across the Institute’s 11 interest-based tracks: Architecture, Costume Design & Technology, Digital Media, Education, Engineering, Lighting Design & Technology, Management, Safety & Health, Scene Design & Technology, Sound Design & Technology, and Technical Production. Our exhibitors are ready to see you as well! USITT Stage Expo is the heart of excitement and activity at USITT Conferences.

Bill Sapsis Intimate 90 Minute Online Session

USITT CHESAPEAKE PRESENTS…

Members are invited to join Bill Sapsis for an intimate 90 minute online learning session. Event will take place on July 21st, 2020 at 10am.

Bill Sapsis announces a new training program that is social distancing compliant. There’s much more information available on the internet now that most of us are in quarantine.

These webinars are great but the information they provide tends to be general in nature and doesn’t always meet the specific needs of an organization or company. This is where Bill Sapsis can help.

Bill will bring his 45+ years of experience to your video screen for live discussions with you and your staff and crew on issues that address your specific concerns and the needs of your operation. Unlike a traditional webinar where you are lost in a sea of faces on a screen, this event will be limited to 20 participants and the content will be based on questions submitted beforehand from those registered.

1 ETCP CREDIT

Please RSVP to Tom Haughey thaughey@wcupa.edu by July 17th with your registration request and questions for Bill Sapsis.

Thank you

Fielding Future Programming Requests

October 16, 2019

Hello Students and Faculty!

The board of USITT Chesapeake would like to know what types of programming you would be interested in attending!  We are asking you to put on your thinking caps and come up with an event – workshop, lecture, session – on something you would drive a few hours to attend.  We would ideally like to do this in an area central to our region.  There are no silly ideas, so don’t be afraid to suggest something.

In 1960 when the national organization started, it’s purpose was to “promote dialogue, research, and learning among its practitioners”.  Now with the existence of the regional sections, we can bring more helpful, learning events closer to those in our regions.

We are eager to put together programming that will be beneficial to you, and to get you involved in our section.  Please submit you ideas to me at jastein@vt.edu.  We look forward to hearing from you!!

Sincerely,
